Sources say at Rs 20 crore per episode, Salman Khan has cracked Rs 450-crore deal for the upcoming edition of a reality show Bigg Boss; to get additional fee on season extension.

The trailer for Sony LIV’s JL50 is out. Starring Abhay Deol and Pankaj Kapur, the series is based on a plane crash that was discovered years after the initial crash. The series has an intriguing time-travel premise with a side of some detective drama.
The interesting trailer of JL50 opes with a plane crash recording from 1984. We then see Abhay Deol tasked with investigating the mysterious plane crash. What makes it such an oddity is that the plane had left Kolkata airport 35 years ago and was declared missing ever since. Questions like “where has the plane been all this while?” arise. But the plot only thickens when two survivors are rescued from the cockpit that somehow made it through the crash landing. After asking “What year is it?” in typical time travel fashion, one of the survivors claims she is the pilot of the titular JL50. They have IDs to and a body count list that matches their stories. Abhay’s character is hell-bent on proving that this is a staged mystery and sets out to find out why the crash has come up in 2019. Pankaj’s character has a different idea and wants to crack it like a time travel case.
We have seen stories about missing planes and mysterious crashes before but none led by Abhay Deol and Pankaj Kapoor who from the get-go seem to be doing a brilliant job. JL50 is written and directed by Shailender Vyas. The series also casts Rajesh Sharma, Ritika Anand and Piyush Mishra in pivotal roles.
JL50 releases on September 4, 2020, on Sony LIV.
