Ae Watan Mere Watan Review: Ek Thi Daayan-fame Kannan Iyer takes a 180-degree shift from the horror genre to historical drama with Dharmatic‘s Ae Watan Mere Watan. Italian physicist Guglielmo Marconi sent the first successful transatlantic radiotelegraph message in 1902, but little did he know that the invention of radio would play a big role in India’s freedom fight against the British in the 1940s. Usha Mehta and her companions thought of this revolutionary idea when the revolution of freedom was crawling down the red line. Ae Watan Mere Watan is a humble tribute to the unsung hero Usha Mehta, who brought revolution through a radio programme and became a “revolution” in herself.
