Featuring the voice talents of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James and Keegan-Michael Key, “Hotel Transylvania 2” bowed Friday in 3,754 locations and generated $13 million in first-day receipts. The original “Hotel Transylvania” opened to $42 million in 2012 on its way to a domestic haul of $148 million. The big weekend for “Hotel” will set a new record for a September opening, as well as a new record for Sony Pictures Animation’s best opening ever. Earning about half the Friday haul as “Transylvania” was Nancy Meyers’ “The Intern,” which nabbed $6 million from 3,305 locations.
