Did you also feel that the prank Praineeti Chopra played on Bigg Boss 8 contestant Ali Quli Mirza was in a bad taste? If yes, then you are among many people who felt the same. Parineeti Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar were inside Bigg Boss house to promote their film Kill Dil. The three danced with the inmates, when Parineeti accused Mirza of touching her “inappropriately”. Ali was left in a shock and perplexed as he had no idea why Parineeti made such complain. After the three actors came out of the house, Salman Khan revealed that it was just a prank. Parineeti later apologised to Mirza for it. Most of the people who watched the episode felt the prank was in a bad taste trivialising a matter as serious as sexual harassment especially when Mirza has already been accused of sexually-harassing co-contestant Sonali Raut a few days prior to the prank. Social media was abuzz with the criticism. When contacted by a leading daily, Parineeti said, “”The prank that the three of us played on Mirza was an idea given to us by the creative team of Bigg Boss. We, as actors, simply executed it, trusting their judgement. The intention was never to hurt sentiments or trivialise the matter of inappropriate behaviour towards women. We apologise to those who got hurt, but maintain that this was a prank, and should be not be taken so seriously. On a lighter note, we are big fans of the show and watch each and every episode. At the end of the day, we all sent pizzas to the contestants to make it up to them.” We, hope Bigg Boss team will be more sensitive in future when it comes to issues like this.
