The blockbuster, previously titled There and Back Again, will bring the curtain down on Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth saga when it opens in cinemas this December. Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sir Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage and Luke Evans all return for the third film in the Lord of the Rings prequel trilogy. Director Jackson revealed at The Hobbit’s recent Comic-Con panel that he is considering releasing a six-film box set of all his JRR Tolkien films after Battle of the Five Armies debuts. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be released on December 12 in the UK and on December 17 in the US.
