Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Issue has landed.
But the issue — the glossy’s annual pièce de résistance and Oscars opener — stars Jennifer Lopez and Eddie Murphy, both of whom were somewhat embarrassingly snubbed by Academy Awards voters amid an uproar over lack of diversity.
The pair, who were believed to have shots at Oscar nominations for “Hustlers” and “Dolemite Is My Name,” respectively, appear in the mag alongside Renée Zellweger, whose turn in “Judy” could get her the Best Actress win.
Lopez, who will perform at the Super Bowl, told VF she’s working to tell diverse stories and called for more female directors. “It’s about breaking the mold of what people are used to,” she said.
Women directors were also shut out from the nods.
