Box office report: How 2019 emerged as Akshay Kumar, Ayushmann Khurana, Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor's BIGGEST year

With the year coming to an end, cine-goers were entertained with a gala of films which managed to leave them impressed. But apart from blockbusters, this year proved to be a disappointment for many as well. Films with a good storyline and stellar performances by some Bollywood actors proving their versatility on the celluloid turned out to be winners, we take a look at how 2019 proved to be the best year for Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and others at the box office.
Biggest hit: Housefull 4 (Rs 197.68 crores and counting)
Akshay Kumar is undoubtedly the king of the box office with his multiple releases this year. With ‘Kesari’ and ‘Mission Mangal’ already proving his mettle earlier in the year, the 52-year-old actor saved the best for the last. His recent release ‘Housefull 4’ which is still doing good business at the box office has managed to mint Rs 197.68 crores, while his previous releases ‘Kesari’ and ‘Mission Mangal’ collected Rs 151.87 crore and Rs 192.67 crore respectively. With a total collection of Rs 542.22 crore at the box office, Akshay’s dominance at the box office has been his career-best.
Biggest hit: War (Rs 291.97 crore)
This year was dominated by Hrithik Roshan as the actor managed to impress the audience with some really stellar performances in ‘Super 30’ and his high octane action film ‘War’ which also featured Tiger Shroff in a pivotal role. While ‘Super 30’ collected Rs 147 crore and ‘War’ leaving an impression at the box office table with Rs 291.97 crore, Hrithik’s film managed to collect a stupendous total of Rs 438.97 crore in 2019 itself.
Biggest hit: Kabir Singh (Rs 276.34 crore)
Shahid Kapoor’s remake of Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’ which had featured Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role managed to give ‘Kabir Singh’ his own touch and make it his own. While the Telugu film was a hit down South, Shahid’s impeccable performance in Sandeep Vanga’s directorial left the audience in ‘aww’ of his on-screen skills. The film went on to collect a miraculous figure of Rs 276.34 crore at the box office and also registered as Shahid biggest solo release of his career.
