Sonakshi Sinha: Salman Khan suggested I lose weight as he wanted to cast me in Dabangg

Sonakshi Sinha revealed that Salman Khan was the one who pushed her to lose weight and join Bollywood.

Next year, Sonakshi Sinha will complete a decade in Bollywood. It is no secret that Salman Khan introduced Sonakshi to the world of Hindi cinema with his 2010 film Dabangg, and in the last nine years, the actress has made a name for herself in the industry. While Sonakshi is fit and fabulous right now, the 32-year-old actress revealed that it was Salman who pushed her to lose weight as he wanted to cast her in one of his films.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Sonakshi, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Khandaani Shafakhana, revealed on Kapil Sharma’s show that Salman walked up to her during a fashion show wherein she worked as audience manager and asked her to lose weight.

The Akira actress said, “He strolled up to me and suggested I lose weight as he was looking forward to casting me in his movie.”

She further revealed how Salman asked her to give him a treat for the good news. “I had only Rs 3000 in my wallet that day and I was too embarrassed to take him out,” added Sonakshi.

Sonakshi, who began her Bollywood career with Dabangg, is returning to her popular character Rajjo with Dabangg 3. Seven years after the second instalment, Salman and Sonakshi have joined hands for the third instalment of the hit franchise. While the first film introduced Chulbul Pandey to the world, the second film took his story forward and now Dabangg 3 will establish how he became the notorious policewala.

Directed by Prabhudheva, the film is set to hit the screens on December 20.
