‘Jabariya Jodi’ Director Prashant Singh Is Receiving Threat Calls To Not Release The Film

Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Jabariya Jodi’ is based on the practice of Pakadwa Shaadi, which is prevalent in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Prashant Singh the director of the film has crafted the film around this tradition and is now receiving threat calls for not releasing the film and promoting the same, since its trailer launch. As the people involved in this practice are now feeling insecured and scared, that the film will expose the ill-practises of this ritual.

However the makers of the films are determined to release the film, despite all the threats. Meanwhile the lead pair of the film, Parineet Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra are on a promotion spree, who are busy promoting their film.

Prashant hails from the heartland and knows many powerful people, who are in this business of practicing groom kidnapping and thus is well versed with the culture of Pakadwa Shaadi, the dressing style or the dialect of the people involved with it. Hence most of the film’s elements has been inspired by real life couples who had Pakadwa Shaadis. This film will release on August 2, 2019.
