Matthew McConaughey Promises to Swallow the World in a New Trailer For The Beach Bum

Moondog (played by Matthew McConaughey), the rebellious poet at the center of Harmony Korine’s The Beach Bum, is simply trying to “uncover his connection with the world” through some of the most unusual means possible. Somehow this mission takes him from golfing with Jonah Hill, to cheering on a coke-addicted parrot on Martin Lawrence’s yacht.

Written and directed by Korine, The Beach Bum is the indie director’s first film since 2012’s Spring Breakers and follows the outrageous adventures of a poetic burnout as he writes “the next great American novel,” and possibly has a gangbang in celebration. The film features a star-studded cast including Isla Fisher, Snoop Dog, Jimmy Buffet, and a very interesting-looking Zac Efron.
