The latest trailer for Deadpool 2 has a lot of action shots featuring incoming villain Cable (Josh Brolin) — once his arm has been properly CGI’d into the shot, that is. In true meta-Deadpool fashion, the trailer pauses to pull off a Toy Story spoof before getting serious. “People think they understand pain, but they have no concept of it,” growls Cable. “What’s the most pain you’ve ever felt?” Commence punching and shooting.

Cable has a complicated comic backstory, and he’s appeared alongside Deadpool in a separate buddy team-up comic series, Cable & Deadpool. The film portrays him as a time-traveling cybernetic mutant soldier. Notably, Brolin has signed a deal to play the character in at least three more films, one of which will be an upcoming X-Force film.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18th. And now, the “official synopsis” for the film, courtesy of 20th Century Fox’s YouTube channel:

“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”
