Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has been subject to controversies right from its inception. Various protests, carried out against the film have forced the delay in release of Bhansali’s magnum opus.
Padmavati was supposed to hit theaters on December 1, 2017, but unfortunately, the audience will have to wait a lot more to watch the film.

Reports were that the Deepika Padukone starrer will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Padman, which releases on January 26, 2018. However, according to a Bollywoodlife report, the makers have clarified that Padmavati will not be clashing with any big release.

The movie stars Deepika Padukone and Queen Padmavati, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh.

The Rajput organizations started protesting and sought a ban on the movie after rumours suggested that the film had a dream sequence featuring Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji.

Coming to the protests about the film, here’s what a source revealed to a leading daily-

“Sanjay has not slept properly for months now. He is finally getting some sleep. The entire controversy is an exercise in the bizarre for him. He doesn’t get it at all. Why are politicians and protesters speaking against the film without seeing it? Strangers outside his home ask him when ‘Padmavati’ will be released. From the public, he feels only love for the film. So where is all the hatred and suspicion coming from?”
