The 2014 Oscar winners were announced Sunday, March 2 during the awards ceremony, hosted by celebrated comedienne Ellen DeGeneres and broadcast live by ABC. All throughout the race leading up to Hollywood\u2019s big night, \u201812 Years a Slave\u2018 (directed by Steve McQueen and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor) was among the top contenders, and the film ended up walking away with the biggest award of the night, Best Picture, in addition to Lupita Nyong\u2019o’s well-deserved win for Best Supporting Actress. Elsewhere, Alfonso Cuaron\u2018s \u2018Gravity\u2018 earned itself the most wins \u2014 seven total, including one for Best Director, making it the film to win the most Oscars except for Best Picture since \u2018Cabaret,\u2019 which won eight. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto both scored their first Golden Globes earlier this year for \u2018Dallas Buyers Club,\u2019 and both won in their respective categories at the 2014 Oscars, as well. And who could forget Cate Blachett\u2018s epic win of Best Actress for \u2018Blue Jasmine\u2018?!<\/p>\nHere is the full list of 2014 Oscar winners:<\/p>\n
