Earlier this year, the rumors, hopes, and speculation that Colombian pop icon Shakira would headline Coachella in 2024 were shut down after Coachella reportedly declined to book the singer for the gig. While the news disappointed fans, who would have loved to see Shakira at the top of the bill, one of her biggest advocates once again had her back. Argentine record producer and songwriter Bizarrap extended a special invitation to Shakira to perform their collaboration, \u201cShakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.\u201d This joint performance, of the diss track aimed at Shakira\u2019s ex-partner, footballer Gerard Piqu\u00e9, marked a significant return for the pop icon, who hadn\u2019t released an album since \u201cEl Dorado\u201d in 2017. The song, which reached No. 1 in 16 countries, was a milestone for both Bizarrap and Shakira. It became Bizarrap\u2019s first Top 10 single and Shakira\u2019s fifth, and also her first all-Spanish track, on the US Billboard Hot 100 since \u201cBeautiful Liar\u201d with Beyonc\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Shakira rose from a podium during the performance with the Argentine DJ\u2019s primary background screen reading, \u201cLa Loba Se Viene\u201d (\u201cThe She-Wolf is coming\u201d). The crowd erupted with screams while they both kicked the performance into full gear. After the collaborative set ended, Shakira shared an emotional thank you and a message of gratitude to her fans and Bizrrap for inviting her to perform at the festival. Before dancing off the stage, she announced her world tour promoting her latest album, \u201cLas Mujeres Ya No Lloran.\u201d There is no doubt that Shakira is slated to become a stadium sellout act and perhaps this was the festival\u2019s last chance to book her before then. But who knows? Although she didn\u2019t get the much-deserved headlining spot, the performance is just another example of how Shakira continues to handle whatever is thrown her way. La Loba might, in fact, return.\n<\/p><\/div>\n
