But our top choice for the month is, in fact, a sci-fi action jaunt from the guy who brought us the most recent Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. So it shouldn\u2019t be too surprising that his latest effort, another sci-fi action-adventure, is the most anticipated movie of the month. John David Washington stars as an ex-special forces mercenary in an unspecified future who is tasked with hunting down a malicious AI with the power to end humanity. The moral quandary? That AI has taken the form of a young child. This one hits theaters at the end of the month, and it co-stars people like Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, and Allison Janney.<\/div>\n<p><\/br><br \/>\n<strong>SAW X (2023)<\/strong><\/br><\/p>\n<div><div class=\"epyt-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"  id=\"_ytid_50942\"  width=\"1140\" height=\"641\"  data-origwidth=\"1140\" data-origheight=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Y5Ga60ytUfU?enablejsapi=1&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&cc_lang_pref=&iv_load_policy=1&loop=0&rel=1&fs=1&playsinline=0&autohide=2&theme=dark&color=red&controls=1&disablekb=0&\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<p><\/br><\/p>\n<div>Here\u2019s that spooky stuff we were talking about up in the intro. After a brief detour into would-be reboot territory in 2021 with Spiral, the Saw franchise returns to its roots \u2014 somewhat literally \u2014 with Saw X, a direct sequel to the very first film. Tobin Bell returns as John Kramer, who travels to Mexico for a miracle cure for his cancer and discovers he\u2019s been scammed; the only logical thing to do, of course, is to take on the mantle of Jigsaw once again and have his revenge. The Saw films were an annual Halloween staple for nearly a decade during the 2000s before they slowed down, but this may breathe new life into the franchise.<\/div>\n<p><\/br><br \/>\n<strong>THE EQUALIZER 3 (2023)<\/strong><\/br><\/p>\n<div><div class=\"epyt-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"  id=\"_ytid_68832\"  width=\"1140\" height=\"641\"  data-origwidth=\"1140\" data-origheight=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DK8paAmQBK0?enablejsapi=1&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&cc_lang_pref=&iv_load_policy=1&loop=0&rel=1&fs=1&playsinline=0&autohide=2&theme=dark&color=red&controls=1&disablekb=0&\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<p><\/br><\/p>\n<div>There are times when Denzel Washington wants to quote Shakespeare in black and white, and then there are times when he just wants to kick some ass. For the latter, it doesn\u2019t get much more satisfying than Antoine Fuqua\u2019s The Equalizer series, based on the 1980s TV show about vigilante justice. This third and presumably final installment takes the action to Southern Italy, where Denzel\u2019s Robert McCall is looking to settle down but runs afoul of the local mob and decides to clean up his community. The only thing left for him to do now is a team-up with Liam Neeson.<\/div>\n<p><\/br><br \/>\n<strong>EXPEND4BLES (2023)<\/strong><\/br><\/p>\n<div><div class=\"epyt-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"  id=\"_ytid_32613\"  width=\"1140\" height=\"641\"  data-origwidth=\"1140\" data-origheight=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IDwE6aVD7vw?enablejsapi=1&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&cc_lang_pref=&iv_load_policy=1&loop=0&rel=1&fs=1&playsinline=0&autohide=2&theme=dark&color=red&controls=1&disablekb=0&\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<p><\/br><\/p>\n<div>Speaking of team-ups, we\u2019ve got a new Expendables movie on the way, and if its title \u2014 Expend4bles \u2014 doesn\u2019t tell you exactly what kind of movie it\u2019s going to be, it\u2019s still pretty clear this is firmly tongue-in-cheek business here. The plot almost doesn\u2019t matter \u2014 we\u2019re all here to see a bunch of past-their-prime action stars of yore come together to take down a global threat of some sort, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re getting. New names added to the cast include Ong Bak\u2019s Tony Jaa, The Raid\u2019s Iko Uwais, 50 Cent, Andy Garcia, and\u2026 Megan Fox.<\/div>\n<p><\/br><br \/>\n<strong>A HAUNTING IN VENICE (2023)<\/strong><\/br><\/p>\n<div><div class=\"epyt-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"  id=\"_ytid_21396\"  width=\"1140\" height=\"641\"  data-origwidth=\"1140\" data-origheight=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tvzk8crozP4?enablejsapi=1&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&cc_lang_pref=&iv_load_policy=1&loop=0&rel=1&fs=1&playsinline=0&autohide=2&theme=dark&color=red&controls=1&disablekb=0&\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<p><\/br><\/p>\n<div>And finally, we have Kenneth Branagh\u2019s third Agatha Christie adaptation after Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile. This one finds Branagh\u2019s Hercule Poirot enjoying his retirement in the titular Italian city when he\u2019s invited to a s\u00e9ance where, of course, one of the guests is murdered. Once again, it\u2019s up to Poirot not only to figure out who the killer is, but whether or not something supernatural is actually going on.
