Vasilis Katsoupis (“My Friend Larry Gus”) helms the latest film from Focus Features, in theaters March 10.<\/p>\n

No one does crazed isolation like Willem Dafoe. The \u201cLighthouse\u201d and \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home\u201d star leads upcoming Focus Features film \u201cInside,\u201d directed by Vasilis Katsoupis (\u201cMy Friend Larry Gus\u201d). \u201cInside\u201d tells the story of Nemo (Dafoe), an art thief trapped in a New York penthouse after his heist doesn\u2019t go as planned. Locked inside with nothing but priceless works of art, he must use all his cunning and invention to survive. Gene Bervoets, Eliza Stuyck, and Josia Krug also star, but \u201cInside\u201d is billed as mostly a standalone Dafoe-led feature.<\/p>\n

The film is written by Ben Hopkins, and produced by Giorgos Karnavas, Marcos Kantis, and Dries Phlypo. Karnavas\u2019 Heretic production company most recently funded Palme d\u2019Or winner \u201cTriangle of Sadness.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s a dream to have made this film, the way we wanted to, having the privilege to work with Willem and all these amazing filmmakers that supported us,\u201d executive producer Vasilis Katsoupis said in a joint statement alongside producer Karnavas. \u201cFocus is the perfect place for the film, and we can\u2019t wait to share it with the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Focus Features president of production and acquisitions Kiska Higgs added, \u201cWith \u2018Inside,\u2019 Focus continues our commitment to first-time and international filmmakers. [Director] Vasilis\u2019s thought-provoking film explores an experience we\u2019re all now familiar with \u2013 isolation \u2013 and explores it in a visually stunning way.\u201d Focus will be in charge of the U.S. and Canadian release while Universal International will distribute the film overseas. Jim Stark, Konstantinos Kontovrakis, Charles E. Breitkreuz, Martin Lehwald, Jean-Claude, Van Rijckeghem, and Stephen Kelliher also serve as executive producers.<\/p>\n

In addition to \u201cInside,\u201d Dafoe is set to collaborate once more with Wes Anderson for \u201cAsteroid City,\u201d plus lead Yorgos Lanthimos\u2019 two films, \u201cPoor Things\u201d and \u201cAND.\u201d Frequent Lanthimos collaborators Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Joe Alwyn will also appear in both films. Dafoe additionally stars in Emmy winner Patricia Arquette\u2019s directorial debut \u201cGonzo Girl,\u201d based on the acclaimed novel by Cheryl Della Pietra. \u201cDaisy Jones and the Six\u201d actress Camila Morrone plays a young magazine intern who takes a publishing job with a maniacal author, played by Dafoe.<\/p>\n
