Chlo\u0308e Bailey, one half of sister singing duo Chl\u00f6e x Halle, is stepping out as a solo artist with new single, \u201cHave Mercy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The accompanying video finds the 23-year-old vocalist embracing a more mature aesthetic than she has previously, leading some fans to question her choice to show \u201cso much skin.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked why \u201cHave Mercy\u201d is a bit more racy that her previous visuals, Bailey chose to smile and keep it concise in her explanation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you showing so much skin?\u201d Bailey said during an Instagram Q&A session, repeating a fan question. \u201cBecause I can. It\u2019s my body, and I\u2019m so proud of it, and I hope you\u2019re proud of yours too.\u201d<\/p>\n

She further elaborated during an interview with MTV News, where she added, \u201cMen can glorify ass in their videos, I want to do it with this in a really artful, fun, beautiful way. And I think it\u2019s so great how women can claim their ownership of their bodies and not let the world do it. We get to do it in the way that we want to, and it was really fun!<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt really pretty on the shoot days, and I look back, and I\u2019m like, \u2018that\u2019s not the same person right here,\u2019 but it was fun in the moment.\u201d\n<\/p><\/div>\n
