\nBeyonc\u00e9 is calling for “swift and decisive action” to be taken in charging three Louisville Metro Police Department officers for the unjust murder of Breonna Taylor. The megastar wrote Kentucky’s attorney general, Daniel Cameron, an open letter, published on her website, regarding her and the Black community’s distress over the death of Taylor earlier this spring.
\nIn March, Taylor, an emergency medical technician from Louisville, was killed by police officers after they forcefully and mistakenly entered her home on a drug warrant. Taylor was shot more than eight times and would have turned 27 years old earlier this month. Since her death, Louisville has passed Breonna’s Law, which bans no-knock warrants in the city. The three officers involved in her death, however, have yet to be fired, arrested, or charged with murder.
\n“Three months have passed\u2014and the LMPD’s investigations have created more questions than answers,” wrote Beyonc\u00e9. “Their incident report states that Ms. Taylor suffered no injuries\u2014yet we know she was shot at least eight times. The LMPD officers claim they announced themselves before forcing their way into Ms. Taylor’s apartment\u2014but her boyfriend who was with her, as well as several neighbors, all say that this is untrue.”\n<\/div>\n
