Netflix has released the official trailer for \u201cDa 5 Bloods,\u201d the newest film from Oscar-winning director Spike Lee.
\nThe movie tells the story of Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis) and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.), four veterans who go back to Vietnam in search for buried treasure and the remains of their squad leader (Chadwick Boseman). Accompanied by Paul\u2019s son (Jonathan Majors), the four vets embark on an adventure that helps them confront their trauma.
\nOther cast members include M\u00e9lanie Thierry, Paul Walter Hauser, Jasper P\u00e4\u00e4kk\u00f6nen, Johnny Tr\u00ed Nguy\u1ec5n, Van Veronica Ngo and Jean Reno.
\nThe trailer flashes between vintage footage of the Vietnam war and the four veterans exploring the country in their return, with the Chambers Brothers\u2019 emblematic \u201cTime Has Come Today\u201d serving as a theme song. The friends are shown as young soldiers in battle in one scene, and dancing in a club with \u201cApocalypse Now\u201d meaningfully playing in the background in the next. Clips of war protests, Nixon\u2019s resignation speech and the friends searching for their buried treasure are all juxtaposed throughout the trailer\u2019s two minutes and 30 seconds, ending with a fist raised in the air.
\nLee won his first Academy award in 2019 for the adapted screenplay of \u201cBlacKkKlansman,\u201d which also had nominations for best picture and best director. His film credits include \u201cDo The Right Thing,\u201d \u201cShe\u2019s Gotta Have It,\u201d \u201c25th Hour\u201d and \u201cMalcom X.\u201d
