Ryan Reynolds is in talks to star in and produce a live-action feature adaptation of the \u201980s arcade game \u201cDragon\u2019s Lair\u201d for Netflix.
\nRoy Lee will produce through his Vertigo Entertainment with Trevor Engelson of Underground Films. Don Bluth, Gary Goldman and Jon Pomeroy are also producing. Reynolds will produce through his Maximum Effort production company.
\nDan and Kevin Hageman, whose credits include \u201cThe Lego Movie\u201d and \u201cScary Stories to Tell in the Dark,\u201d are attached to write the script. \u201cDragon\u2019s Lair\u201d put players in the shoes of Dirk the Daring as he attempted to rescue Princess Daphne from the dragon Singe and the wizard Mordroc.
\n\u201cDragon\u2019s Lair\u201d was originally released for arcades in 1983 by Cinematronics. The game used laserdisc technology and offered superior graphics and feature film quality animation from Don Bluth Studios.
\nReynolds, best known for starring in the two \u201cDeadpool\u201d movies, teamed with Netflix on the action movie \u201c6 Underground\u201d and has been shooting Netflix\u2019s \u201cRed Notice\u201d with Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson. Reynolds is also starring in Liosngate\u2019s upcoming \u201cThe Hitman\u2019s Wife\u2019s Bodyguard\u201d with Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek\n<\/div>\n
