I had intended to do daily Deadpool box office updates similar to what I did with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but frankly the weekday numbers drop too late, and there have been too many days where I was otherwise occupied during the 11am-1pm slot to keep up with this on a regular basis. That\u2019s not anyone\u2019s fault but mine, but if you\u2019re asking why these are more sporadic updates, there you go. And since I might be busy tomorrow afternoon when the Ryan Reynolds film ends its second week of business and tops the $251 million domestic gross of Tim Burton\u2019s Batman, I thought I would update today instead.<\/p>\n

20th Century Fox\u2019s Deadpool earned another $3.8 million on Wednesday, a drop of 52% from last Wednesday and 26% from yesterday. The film ended its 13th day of release with $250.3 million in domestic grosses. Spider-Man 3 ($250.4m) Toy Story 3 ($251m), and Shrek 3 ($260m) all crossed said milestone in 13 days as well, making Deadpool the 21st-fastest title to zoom to the $250m mark. As of today, it will hop over the $250.6m total of Men in Black and the $251.3m domestic total of Tim Burton\u2019s Batman to become the 15th biggest comic book movie ever. But as of now it\u2019s 17th.<\/p>\n

In terms of pure superhero movies, comic book or otherwise, it now sits at 18th place. Again, I\u2019m counting The Matrix Reloaded ($281 million) which might not be an issue after this weekend. It will zoom past the Michael Keaton\/Jack Nicholson blockbuster snatch the 17th place on the superhero list, with the obvious caveat that Batman would have made around $547m in 2016 dollars.<\/p>\n

In terms of all Marvel comic book movies, Deadpool sits under the $259m total of Walt Disney\u2019s Captain America: The Winter Soldier at 12th place. It should move past Sony\u2019s The Amazing Spider-Man ($262m) this weekend to join the top-10 for all Marvel movies. By the end of the weekend, it should be 14th on the superhero list and 13th in terms of all comic book adaptations.<\/p>\n
