Trailer for upcoming movie ‘The Fallout’ proves moving and powerful What’s your Reaction? +1 0 +1 0 +1 0 +1 0 +1 0 Facebook Twitter Email AA new film titled ‘The Fallout’ is coming soon and is already being praised as “the first defining movie of Gen Z.” ‘The Fallout’ is the directional debut of Megan Park, who also wrote it. At the 2021 SXSW Film Festival, it won the Grand Jury Prize, the Audience Award for Narrative Feature, and the Brightcove Illumination Award for Park’s screenplay. The film stars Jenna Ortega, whose credits include ‘Scream’, ‘You’, and ‘Yes Day’, and Maggie Ziegler, the star of Sia’s music videos “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart”, who’s now broken into films with such credits as ‘West Side Story and Music’. They play two high schoolers whose lives are thrown together in the aftermath of a school shooting. Due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter, a warning comes with the trailer that reads: “What you are about to see involves issues of trauma. Viewer discretion is advised.” According to the official plot synopsis: “Bolstered by new friendships forged under sudden and tragic circumstances, high schooler Vada (Ortega) begins to reinvent herself, while re-evaluating her relationships with her family, friends and her view of the world. “Moving away from her comfortable family routine, she starts taking chances with a series of quicksilver decisions that test her own boundaries and push her in new directions. “As she spends more time with Mia (Ziegler), they grow closer, and Vada slowly redefines herself through their shared experiences, leading her further away from that day and closer to living her life in the now.” ‘The Fallout’ co-stars Niles Fitch, Will Ropp, John Ortiz, Julie Bowen and Shailene Woodley.
